Location– Kerala is located in the South- western tip of India. It is bordered by Karnataka to the north and north-east, Tamil Nadu to the east and south, and the Arabian Sea to the west.It is considered as the “cleanest state in India”.

Geography-The state has a coast of 590 km .Kerala can be divided into three climatically distinct regions: the eastern highlands; rugged and cool mountainous terrain, the central midlands; rolling hills, and the western lowlands; coastal plains.

Area– Area of Kerala State is about 38,863 Square Km.

Capital– Thiruvananthapuram is the capital city of Kerala State of India. It is the largest city of this state and is characterized by its undulating terrain of low coastal hills and busy commercial alleys.Trivandrum is also a tourist hot-spot for both domestic and international tourists.

Language– Malayalam is the official language of the Kerala . Almost everyone speaks this language.English and Tamil are also other two languages frequently used by people here. Kerala has the highest literacy rate in Indian States and almost everyone know how to converse in English.

Religion– All the religions dwells in the state in harmony and peace. Hindu population is maximum in the state .Then Muslims followed by Christians and other religions also.

Climate– Kerala has a wet and maritime tropical climate influenced by the seasonal heavy rains of the southwest summer monsoon and northeast winter monsoon. The mean daily temperatures range from 19.8 °C to 36.7 °C.

Currency– Indian Rupee is used as a currency in the state. There are various currency exchangers in the state as it is a popular tourist destination of India.
