Aroor

Aroor is town located in Alappuzha District of Kerala State. It is famous for seafoods and its industries there. It lies in the proximity of Vembanad Lake ,though part of Alappuzha it is also considered as southernmost tip of Cochin City. There are many churches and temples in Aroor which are quite famous one like St. Augustine’s Church one of the major pilgrimage place here in the heart of the town and also Aroor Puthuvaranad temple dedicated to Goddess Kali . Aroor Karthyayani Temple is the another main temple in Aroor.

The backwaters here and Cochin Fishing harbour near to it have made the town famous for exports of seafoods.

How To Reach Aroor

Aroor lies in National Highway 47 passing through the state.

By Air– Cochin International Airport is about 40 Km from here, while Trivandrum Airport is about 192 Km away.

By Train– Ernakulam Junction one of the major station of Kerala is located about 16 Km from here. While Aroor station is also present in the town.

By Road– NH47 passes through the town hence there are many bus services to the town from Cochin and Alleppey.
