Peermade

Peermade is a small hill town that is located in the state of Kerala in the Idukki district. It is a popular tourist town in the state and there are many attractive sites that are available here. The tourist places include spectacular plantations, pine trees, waterfalls, open grass lands and pine forests and other sites. Peermade is also known as Plantation Town Of Kerala. This beautiful hill station is located at the height of 915 meters above sea level.

There are various picnic spots that are located in and around for sightseeing and activities and these are Kuttikanam, Thrissanku Hills, Peeru Hills, Grampi, Pattumala, Wagamon and Sahayadri Ayurvedic Centre. Visitors can opt for trekking, walk on rolling hills, Ayurvedic massage and lot more.

Best Weather and Time To Visit

One can also visit the nearby Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary to take a glimpse of herds of elephants and other wildlife as well as lakes. Summer season of March to May is the best expected time in Idukki and very well connected via all modes of transportation rail, road and air. Accommodation facilities are much better here and you must confirm your stay before arriving especially during peak season.
