Located in the heart of Kumily, Thekkady town, atop a small hillock, ensconced by the canopy of tall trees lies Greenwood’s, a four star luxury resort, so named as a tribute to the wooded, green ambiance all around. With six acres of space to play, shout, run around and breathe and with 8 acres of plantation with Tree House , adjacent to reserve forest , Greenwoods has always been the one of the largest resort closest to the Periyar Tiger Reserve and definitely, one among the most beautiful resorts in Kerala.

Rooms and Accommodation

The accommodation at Greenwoods is comfortable, cosy and comes with state of the art amenities. Rooms are divided into three categories- Aranya, Kanana and Rithika. All rooms are equipped with a mini bar, tea/coffee maker, satellite television, complimentary mineral water, Wi-Fi, direct dialing facility, complimentary newspaper and toilet kit. They are furnished with comfortable King Sized Beds with soft mattresses. All rooms have a study table with mirror, a tea table with two armchairs and a wooden wardrobe with hangers along with a neatly laid out, spacious bathroom.

All rooms are largely similar in size and shape with the exception of Rithika. Rithika, which is a honeymoon villa, is exclusive and private. They are set as separate units with a plunge pool attached to the cottage. It is fully stocked with the finest amenities and the attached pool revitalizes your tired body and mind with a plunge after a long day.

Ambara, is atop a tree, set up as a tree shack, with wooden benches and tables, built out of bamboo and local materials. To savour your tea and snacks, you climb up the first tree from where there is a ropeway leading onto Ambara.
• Ayurveda– At Grenwoods, Ayurvedic programs are rooted in following Ayurvedic practices as specified in the ancient texts. This purist position has made us partner with Parathuvaylil hospital, a pioneering Ayurvedic Hospital more than half a century old run by a family of Ayurvedic physicians led by Dr. Pathrose Paruthuvayalil, Kerala’s first graduate doctor in Ayurveda.Arthreya Ayurveda spa rejuvenates you with ayurveda packages & treatments starting from 8 am to 6pm with prior booking service list available at the Reception.
• Tree House is located 4 kms away from Greenwoods Resort .From Greenwoods Resort, you are taken in a 4X4 Jeep and then you have to trek 700 meters up to reach the Tree House, which is located in Forest Ambiance.Food is served from Butler Home which is connected with Tree House with Intercom. There is 3 staff in Butler Home exclusively at your serviceThere is a coffee shop 10 meters away from Tree House, which is also build on a natural tree. Bookings for Vanya need to be done in advance due to the high demand from niche travelers.

Green Woods Resort is located in a Thekkady Road, Kumily. Nearest railheads are Kottayam (114km)and Theni(60km). Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery is 190km (nearly 4hrs.) and Madurai airport is 140km away.
