Thrikkakara Temple also called as Vamanamoorthy Temple is one of the rare temples dedicated to Lord Vamana an incarnation of Lord Vishnu . The temple is located in Thrikkakara near Cochin City of Kerala India. It also considered as 108 Divya Desams. Legends beleive it to be of around 7th-9th century CE temple. Travancore Devaswom Board manages this temple.
Temple Complex have have the Idol od Lord Vamana and Lord Vishnu . The festivities of the temple arise twice a year, in February – March and in March – April. Onma is the main festival celebrated here in this temple. The temple is considered to be the centre of Onam celebrations over the world, as Thrikkakara is considered to have been the abode of the King Mahabali. People of all religions and cast come here . It is a 10 days festival which is celebrated with great joy and celebrations various dance and cultural performance are also done during festival like Chakyar Koothu, Ottamthullal, Kathakali .
